El Burro Estate is owned by the Lamastus Family Estates, which was founded by Robert Lamastus in 1918. In addition to El Burro Estate, the family also owns three other estates: Elida Estate and Luito Geisha Estate.
Located in different high altitude areas of Panama, each estate has different soil characteristics, microclimates, microorganisms and surrounding environments, creating a completely different terroir for each estate.

El Burro was founded by Amado Boutet, the current owner's maternal grandfather. It is one of Panama's southernmost coffee farms, stretching into the Val-Bulgán National Park (BVNP). Coffee cultivation begins at an altitude of 1,550 meters and extends as high as 1,800 meters. The unique microclimate and growing conditions, surrounded by young, fertile volcanic soil and virgin rainforest rich in unique yeasts, bacteria, and microorganisms, produce a cup profile that is completely different from the other two farms in northern Panama (Erida and Ruito). To accommodate these growing conditions, El Burro cultivates two varieties: 50% Geisha and 50% Catuai.

The coffees grown on three different farms are all exceptional, winning awards every year at the Best of Panama (a Panamanian coffee bean competition). The Lamastus family is proud of these farms, which focus on nature, which is essential for producing high-quality coffee, understanding the soil and climate while preserving the ecosystem and environment, and maximizing the unique potential of each farm, thereby continuing to produce some of the world's finest coffee.
