This recipe makes approximately 7 cups per 100g and 17 cups per 250g.
*These numbers are just a guideline, so please adjust them to your liking.

  • coffee beans

    14g (medium grind)

  • hot water

    220ml (93℃)

01 Preparation

Prepare 14g of coffee beans and grind them. For hand drip coffee, grind to a medium grind, like the one shown in the photo. This will vary depending on the grinder, so please use this as a reference.
Prepare hot water. The extraction temperature is 93°C. If you transfer boiling water to another kettle or pot, the temperature will be about 93°C. Prepare about twice the amount of hot water you will be pouring.

02 Rinse

Place the dripper on the server and insert the paper filter.

To warm up the device, pour hot water over the paper filter once, ensuring that it is evenly distributed (this is called rinsing).

Please discard the hot water that has accumulated in the server after rinsing.

03 Steaming

After rinsing, set the server and dripper back in place and place the coffee grounds in the center of the paper filter. Then, shake it gently to evenly distribute the coffee grounds evenly (to ensure that the coffee grounds are evenly exposed to the hot water).

Pour about 30ml of hot water (about twice the amount of coffee grounds) over the coffee grounds, and let it steep for 30 seconds.

Steaming is like a warm-up for extraction. It removes gases and creates conditions that make extraction easier.

04 Pouring

After steaming, pour the hot water. First, pour the hot water in a circular motion to distribute it evenly over the powder, then pour a single point in the center. Pour 220ml in one go so that it drips completely within 2 minutes. Once it drips completely, it's finished.

05 Completed

Transfer to a cup and enjoy. The flavor will change as the temperature drops. Please enjoy it slowly.

If you find the coffee doesn't taste as good, try changing the grind size or brewing method. You can also ask a barista at a REC COFFEE store.
