Story
Ardent Coffee, led by Ashenafi Argaw, works with coffees from Gedeb in Yirgacheffe, located at an altitude of 1,850–2,200 meters.
For this lot, fully ripe cherries are carefully processed using an anaerobic natural process. By slowly processing the cherries under controlled fermentation conditions, Ardent Coffee brings out the distinctive characteristics of the fruit.
Compared with Ardent's coffees from other areas, coffees from Gedeb are known for their fuller body and rich flavor. This lot offers the distinctive complexity of Gedeb through Ardent Coffee's careful processing.

| A note from the online shop manager Although this coffee is processed as an Anaerobic Natural, the fermentation character is gentle, making it an easy and enjoyable cup to keep sipping. If you enjoy Ethiopian coffees but sometimes find coffees with strong fermentation notes difficult to drink throughout the cup, this one may be a great choice for you. As the coffee cools, its juicy fruit character becomes even more pronounced. Take your time and enjoy how the flavors evolve as the temperature changes. |

Ardent Coffee Export was founded by Ashenafi Argaw. It has washing stations in major coffee-producing areas in Ethiopia, and handles the processing, processing and export of coffee from small farms.

REC COFFEE began selling Ardent Coffee beans from the 2019-20 crop, two years after the company was founded, and is now the largest purchaser of Ardent coffee in Japan.
We have been working with the founder, Ashenafi, since 2014. Our CEO, Iwase, met him when he was looking for coffee beans to use in the WBC (World Barista Championship). At the time, Ashenafi was working at his previous company, Ninety Plus Coffee, LLC, but later went independent. He contacted me again and our relationship with REC COFFEE began in earnest.

Ashenafi founded Ardent Coffee with his experience and passion from her previous job, her deep knowledge of coffee, and his desire to improve the coffee environment in his native Ethiopia. Although it was only recently established, the company has grown at an astonishing pace, delivering high-quality coffee every year.
They are also actively working to improve the living environment for small-scale farmers by building roads to make it easier for them to commute to washing stations, and by building orphanages and schools. They told us that it is only through relationships of trust with neighboring farmers that high-quality coffee can be produced.

Please enjoy Ardent Coffee, which is made with the efforts of small-scale farmers and washing station workers, as well as Ashenafi's knowledge and passion.
