REC COFFEE Tenjin Minami shop opened in 2020 as the successor to REC COFFEE Tenjin shop.

Tenjin | 天神
Tenjin, Kyushu's largest downtown area, is home to many shops, including department stores, fashion buildings, and underground shopping malls.
The Tenjin area continues to evolve thanks to the Tenjin Big Bang , and is currently under development, with large facilities being completed one after another.
It's no exaggeration to say that all the locals grew up with Tenjin!

Inside the Tenjin Minami Shop
The interior of the store blends the warmth of wood with the stylishness of mortar, and the long bench seating is an impressive feature.
The bench seats with power outlets are perfect for relaxing even if you're traveling alone!
In the back there are table seats and counter seats where you can watch the coffee being hand-dripped.

Espresso machine
At REC COFFEE, the espresso machines installed vary depending on the shop.
We also recommend enjoying the unique characteristics of espresso produced by each machine!
The espresso machine at the Tenjin Minami shop is SANREMO's " Café Racer "
The hard body is inspired by motorcycles and is equipped with the world's best extraction technology.
It is also used as the official machine for the WLAC (World Latte Art Championship).

Staff Interview
To find out more about the Tenjin Minami shop, we interviewed a barista who actually works there!
We spoke with Mr. Kuraoka from the Tenjin Minami shop.
What kind of stories will you hear?

Tenjin Minami shop exclusive products
- Please tell us about a menu item that you would say "You have to order this!" when you come to the Tenjin Minami shop.
Kuraoka: The product we are focusing on is "Geisha Latte" !
This cafe latte uses a Geisha blend, and you can enjoy the wonderful flavor characteristics that are not overpowered even when combined with milk!

It has the sweetness of ripe cherries and flavors of cocoa and pineapple.
You can enjoy it hot or iced, but I personally recommend the iced version!
The milk content is lower than in a regular cafe latte, so you can really taste the Geisha flavor!
If you're pairing it with cake, we recommend something that uses seasonal fruits.
Fruity coffee goes really well with fruit.

Tenjin Minami shop staff recommended seats
- After ordering, it's time to choose a seat. Are there any seats you recommend?
Kuraoka: I definitely prefer the counter seats! They hand-pour the coffee from a fairly close distance, so you can really smell the aroma of freshly ground coffee .
Customers often tell me it smells great!
What's more, you can see the barista extracting the espresso!
I recommend it because you can see the view from the side, which is hard to see in other shops.

This is the only place that can beat other shops!
- Please tell us what Tenjin Minami shop's selling points are that make it stand out.
Kuraoka: I want to entertain my customers through coffee!
We strive to offer suggestions that will help you discover the appeal of new coffee whenever you visit.
We try to suggest not only coffee that each customer likes, but also coffee that has a completely different taste.
Also, the staff room is bigger than any other store. Lol, we can take a break in comfort!
Daily life at Tenjin Minami shop
- Finally, a little story.
Please tell us some common stories from the Tenjin Minami shop.
Kuraoka: It's common for people to come to the shop to drink coffee even on their days off.
Before I knew it, it seemed like I was at the restaurant every day...lol. Also, eating Tanindon at Yataro Udon (a nearby udon restaurant that's open 24 hours) is a big hit among the staff!
Tanindon is a derivative of oyakodon, a rice bowl of egg and beef.
You'll feel kind after eating it!

Thank you, Kuraoka-san, for the fun conversation!
The Tenjin Minami shop is open until late at night, so come and have a cup of coffee after drinking in the Tenjin area!
